The climate clock shows nearly 5 years to reach 1.5 degree Celsius of global warming. All efforts must be put to restrict global warming below this. Climate change will start to become irreversible after that. The Energy Swaraj Foundation’s theme for this World Environment Day, 5th June, celebration is to congratulate newly elected PM and MPs for their next 5 years term and request the elected leaders to use their 5 years judiciously. These 5 years are going to play a crucial role in the life of students, people and the planet.
Students and citizens will be engaged in #ActionForClimateCorrection by writing letters to the Honorable Prime Minister of India on World Environment Day. The goal is to congratulate the newly elected government and urge decisive steps towards climate change mitigation, spreading awareness, making citizens energy literate, and collectively participating in climate corrective actions.
